When you need it
When responses are collected in face-to-face interviews in branches, events or the field. The Fieldwork add-on gives you interviewers with their own app, where they see only the surveys assigned to them and no organisation data.
1. Invite interviewers
- From Members → Field interviewers press Invite interviewer.
- Enter their email. They receive a link; on accepting they become a field interviewer in your organisation (not a team member, so they have no access to organisation data).
- You can suspend or remove an interviewer at any time.
The number of interviewers is limited by your plan (10 with the Fieldwork add-on).
Interviewer limit and extra interviewer packs
Only active interviewers count; a paused interviewer does not. If you need more than 10, add Extra interviewers from the Subscription page: each unit adds 5 interviewers, and you choose how many units (up to 10) with the plus and minus buttons before paying. For example, 3 units raise the limit from 10 to 25. The add-on appears on the Subscription page only once Fieldwork is active, and Enterprise organisations do not need it because their interviewers are unlimited.
2. Assign a survey
- Open the survey (it must be Published) and go to the Field tab.
- Enable Field collection and pick the interviewers.
- Set the quota policy on sync: accept responses over quota and flag them (the default, recommended) or reject them (strict).
- Save the assignments.
3. The field app
The interviewer opens /field on their phone and signs in. We recommend adding it to the home screen so it behaves like an app:
- It downloads the assigned surveys.
- Interviews run offline; responses are stored on the device.
- When the connection returns, responses sync automatically, and the interviewers page shows each person's last sync.
Quality
Every field response carries the interviewer's identity and the start and end times, so you can review very short or repetitive responses. Quotas prevent exceeding the target for each segment.
FAQ
- Can an interviewer see earlier responses? No, only how many they completed.
